✨ Detailed 4K and Oversampled Full HD

A 1/2.3-inch 4K UHD CMOS sensor works with Canon’s DIGIC DV 6 image processor to capture detailed 4K footage at up to 30p.

When recording in Full HD, the XA60 uses information from its 4K sensor to produce sharp, detailed oversampled HD images. This makes it suitable for productions that need the convenience and manageable file sizes of Full HD without sacrificing image quality.

🔭 Versatile 20x Optical Zoom

The built-in Canon lens provides a powerful 20x optical zoom range, covering approximately 29.3–601mm in 35mm-equivalent terms when recording 4K with Dynamic IS turned off.

This broad range allows operators to capture wide establishing shots, medium compositions, and distant close-ups without changing lenses. It is particularly useful for stage performances, sporting events, ceremonies, lectures, and worship services where the camera may be positioned well away from the subject.

🎯 Advanced Hybrid Autofocus

Advanced Hybrid AF provides fast and accurate focusing with adjustable response speeds. Face Detection AF and Face Tracking help maintain focus on speakers, performers, and other subjects as they move through the scene.

The 3.5-inch touchscreen allows the operator to select a focus point directly on the image. Manual focus is also available through the camera’s focus and zoom ring.

🖐️ Five-Axis Image Stabilization

Canon’s stabilization system combines optical and electronic correction to reduce visible camera shake. Dynamic IS provides additional five-axis correction when recording while walking or working handheld.

Standard and Powered IS options allow stabilization behavior to be matched to different shooting situations, including long-telephoto recording.

🎞️ XF-AVC and MP4 Recording

The XA60 records in either professional XF-AVC or widely compatible MP4 formats.

• XF-AVC supports 4K UHD recording at up to 160 Mbps

• MP4 supports 4K UHD recording at up to 150 Mbps

• Full HD recording is available at up to 60p

• Slow and Fast Motion modes provide additional creative options

This flexibility allows operators to choose a format suited to professional editing, rapid delivery, extended recording, or simplified file sharing.

🎙️ Professional XLR Audio

The included detachable handle unit provides two XLR audio inputs with professional controls for microphone and line-level sources. Four-channel linear PCM recording allows audio from multiple sources to be captured when properly configured.

The handle also includes a microphone holder, accessory shoe, secondary zoom control, record trigger, tally lamp, and built-in infrared light.

Separate 3.5mm microphone and headphone connections provide additional audio input and monitoring options.

💾 Dual SD Card Slots

Two SD memory-card slots support several professional recording configurations:

• Simultaneous recording to both cards for immediate backup

• Relay recording for longer uninterrupted sessions

• Separate recording arrangements for different formats or file requirements

🌙 Infrared Recording

Infrared mode allows the XA60 to capture subjects in extremely dark environments. The detachable handle incorporates an infrared light for situations where normal visible illumination is unavailable or undesirable.

Infrared recording can be useful for documentary, wildlife, security, law-enforcement, and nighttime event applications.

💻 USB-C Streaming

The XA60 can output HD video through USB-C using the UVC standard, allowing it to function as a streaming camera with compatible Windows and Mac computers without requiring a separate video-capture device.

A compatible USB-C cable is required and sold separately. Audio is not transmitted through the camera’s UVC USB output.

🕒 On-Screen Time-Stamp Recording

The On-Screen Display recording function can permanently embed information such as date, time, timecode, and other camera data into the recorded image.

This feature is particularly valuable for legal, law-enforcement, inspection, documentation, and evidentiary applications where visible recording information is required.
