🌟 24.5MP Full-Frame Image Quality
The Z6II’s 24.5-megapixel backside-illuminated sensor provides an excellent balance of resolution, sensitivity and manageable file size. It captures finely rendered detail while preserving smooth tonal transitions and a wide dynamic range.
The full-frame sensor also makes it easier to achieve shallow depth of field, giving portraits, product photographs and cinematic video a naturally dimensional appearance.
Its native ISO range of 100–51,200 can be expanded when necessary, making the Z6II well suited to available-light photography, indoor events and nighttime work.
⚡ Dual EXPEED 6 Processing
Two EXPEED 6 image processors give the Z6II faster performance and a larger shooting buffer than the original Nikon Z6.
The added processing power supports responsive autofocus, quick image review and continuous shooting at up to 14 frames per second under compatible settings. This makes the camera capable of handling action, wildlife, events and fast-changing documentary situations.
🎯 Fast Hybrid Autofocus
A 273-point hybrid autofocus system covers a broad portion of the image area, allowing the camera to acquire and follow subjects throughout the frame.
Eye-detection autofocus helps keep a person’s nearest eye sharply focused for portraits and candid photography. Animal-detection AF supports dogs and cats, making it especially useful for pet portraits and everyday family photography.
Low-Light AF can extend focusing performance in very dim conditions when used with suitable lenses.
🛡️ Five-Axis In-Body Stabilization
The Z6II incorporates five-axis sensor-shift Vibration Reduction that can provide up to approximately five stops of stabilization with compatible lenses.
This allows photographers to work at slower shutter speeds while reducing the effects of camera shake. Stabilization is particularly valuable for handheld interiors, travel photography, evening scenes and video production.
Because stabilization is built into the camera, it can also benefit many adapted Nikon F-mount lenses when used with a compatible FTZ adapter.
🎥 Versatile 4K Video
The Z6II records detailed 4K UHD video at up to 30p using the full sensor width. It can also capture 4K UHD at up to 60p using a DX-format crop, providing additional flexibility for action, wildlife and slow-motion editing.
Full HD recording at up to 120p makes it possible to create smooth slow-motion sequences.
Video-oriented features include:
-
Focus peaking
-
Zebra exposure warnings
-
Timecode support
-
Microphone input
-
Headphone output
-
Clean HDMI output
-
Electronic and in-body stabilization options
-
External 10-bit N-Log and HLG recording with compatible equipment
Optional external RAW-video workflows are also available with compatible recorders and the appropriate Nikon upgrade.
💾 Two Memory-Card Slots
The Nikon Z6II has two memory-card slots:
-
One CFexpress Type B or XQD slot
-
One UHS-II SD card slot
The two slots can be configured for overflow storage, simultaneous backup or separate recording of RAW and JPEG files. This is especially useful for weddings, events and professional assignments where immediate file redundancy is important.
CFexpress Type B cards also provide the high write speeds needed for long bursts and demanding video applications.
👁️ Clear Electronic Viewfinder
The 3.69-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder provides a large, detailed view with approximately 0.8x magnification and 100% frame coverage.
Exposure, white balance, picture controls and depth of field can be previewed before the photograph is taken, helping photographers make more confident creative decisions.
🖥️ Tilting Touchscreen Monitor
A 3.2-inch, 2.1-million-dot touchscreen monitor tilts upward and downward for comfortable shooting from high or low positions.
Touch controls can be used to select the focus point, release the shutter, navigate menus and review images. The tilting design is particularly convenient for landscapes, street photography, tripod work and low-angle compositions.
🌦️ Durable, Weather-Resistant Construction
The Z6II uses a strong magnesium-alloy structure with sealing designed to resist dust and moisture.
Its substantial grip, logically arranged controls and top information display give it the familiar handling expected from a serious Nikon camera. The body remains compact enough for travel while providing dedicated controls for frequently used settings.
As with any weather-resistant camera, appropriate care and weather-sealed lenses are still recommended in difficult conditions.
🔋 Flexible Power Options
The supplied EN-EL15c rechargeable battery provides dependable performance and supports in-camera USB charging.
With a compatible USB-C power source, the camera can also receive continuous power during extended video recording, studio sessions or time-lapse photography.
Compatible EN-EL15-series batteries may also be used, although operating time and charging capabilities can vary by battery version.
For longer assignments and improved vertical handling, the optional Nikon MB-N11 or MB-N14 battery grip can be added.
📱 Wireless Connectivity
Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth allow the Z6II to communicate with compatible smartphones and tablets through Nikon’s SnapBridge application.
Images can be transferred for quick sharing, while compatible mobile devices can also provide remote camera control. USB-C and HDMI connections support tethered photography, file transfer and external monitoring workflows.
