The a7CR’s 61MP back-illuminated full-frame sensor captures exceptional detail, tonal gradation, and color. It is ideal for photographers who create large prints, reproduce artwork, photograph products, or need extensive cropping flexibility.

When shooting in APS-C crop mode, the camera still produces images of approximately 26MP. This provides additional apparent reach for wildlife, travel, and distant subjects while retaining strong resolution.

🎯 Intelligent Subject Recognition

A dedicated AI processing unit uses detailed shape and pose information to improve autofocus accuracy. Human pose estimation allows the camera to recognize a person even when the face or eyes are partially obscured.

Real-time Recognition AF supports people, animals, birds, insects, cars, trains, and airplanes. Real-time Tracking maintains focus as subjects move across the frame, helping the photographer concentrate on composition and timing.

🖐️ Seven-Stop Image Stabilization

Five-axis in-body image stabilization provides up to approximately 7 stops of compensation. This helps photographers take advantage of the high-resolution sensor while shooting handheld in low light or at slower shutter speeds.

The stabilization system works with Sony E-mount lenses, including lenses without built-in optical stabilization.

🔬 Pixel Shift Multi Shooting

Pixel Shift Multi Shooting uses the camera’s stabilization mechanism to precisely reposition the sensor between exposures. Sony Imaging Edge software can combine either four or 16 images to improve color accuracy, fine detail, and resolution.

S-Cinetone provides natural skin tones and a cinematic look directly from the camera, while S-Log3 offers greater flexibility for professional color grading. A micro-HDMI connection can output 16-bit RAW video data to a compatible external recorder.

🚶 AI Auto Framing

AI Auto Framing can automatically crop and follow a recognized subject during video recording. This creates the appearance of deliberate camera movement without requiring a second operator.
