The Sony VG-C4EM Vertical Grip provides improved handling, extended battery capacity, and intuitive camera control for portrait-orientation shooting with select Sony Alpha full-frame mirrorless cameras.

Its controls closely match the position, shape, and feel of those on the camera body, providing consistent operation whether the camera is held horizontally or vertically. The grip accepts one or two Sony NP-FZ100 batteries and automatically switches between them for longer uninterrupted shooting.

📷 Comfortable Vertical Shooting

The VG-C4EM provides a secure, natural grip when the camera is rotated for vertical or portrait-orientation photography. Its carefully positioned controls reduce the need to twist your wrist or reach awkwardly across the camera body.

The shutter button, AF-ON button, AEL button, multi-selector, control dials, and customizable buttons are arranged to closely reproduce the camera’s normal horizontal controls. This allows photographers to work quickly and consistently in either orientation.

🔋 Extended Battery Capacity

The grip accepts one or two Sony NP-FZ100 rechargeable batteries. When two fully charged batteries are installed, available shooting time is nearly doubled compared with using a single battery in the camera.

The camera displays the remaining charge for each battery in 1% increments. When one battery is depleted, the system automatically switches to the second battery without interrupting camera operation.

Installed batteries can be charged through the camera’s USB connection while the grip remains attached.

In addition to providing vertical controls and longer battery life, the VG-C4EM adds surface area and weight below the camera body. This can improve balance and handling when using professional zooms, fast-aperture lenses, and large telephoto lenses.

The VG-C4EM uses a rigid magnesium-alloy chassis for strength without unnecessary weight. Dust- and moisture-resistant sealing complements the construction of compatible professional Sony camera bodies.

The grip attaches securely to the camera’s tripod socket and communicates directly through the camera’s grip connection. A standard tripod socket on the bottom of the grip allows continued use with tripods, monopods, straps, and compatible support accessories.
